“scrooge” set design for lyons community theater

This was an extensive set design project that I was luckily able to complete at my studio/gallery. I'd have customers come in to look around and I would need to take a moment to clean off my hands! Even then, at 8-feet high, the flats took up quite a bit of space, made doable by volunteers who delivered blank flats and picked up finished flats 2-3 at a time. Upon suggestion from a mentor, I watched the 1970 movie version of "Scrooge" with Albert Finney to gain insights into how to design the set. I was given the general flow of scenes for the musical and the rooms that they were located in, but these designs came primarily from my imagination. (I came up with the idea to build and paint 3-dimensional shop awnings, for example.) Note: the center 2-flat "Big Ben" theme was a late-addition and completed by someone else. Another 1-2 flats wouldn't fit on the stage for the final production and therefore aren't pictured. Hand-painted, no ai.
